Bath repair across SK17: what to expect

Repairing baths is what we do most. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all repaired in place, typically in a single visit. We work on whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and acrylic, and people most often call us about scratches you can feel with a fingernail and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted.

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we are there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, typically by the next day, the bath is ready to use.

What you’ll pay

Our bath repair starts from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book.

Ask for a price

If you are in SK17 and want a price, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Around Buxton

We visit homes around Buxton Pavilion Gardens, St Thomas More Catholic Voluntary Academy and The White Lion and attached stable block pub. Also close by are St Thomas More Catholic School (0.5 miles north-west), Trinity Church (less than half a mile north) and Buxton Infant School (under half a mile north-west). There is a railway station in Buxton itself: Buxton station. Nearby you will also find Scriveners Books Victorian Museum (less than half a mile south-west) and Devonshire Royal Hospital (less than half a mile north-west). Not far away are Corbar Hill and Harpur Hill Quarry.

  • Parks and local facilities nearby include Municipal Borough of Buxton (within half a mile north)

What a repair can’t fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will arrange it.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Rinse it down after each bath

A repaired bath needs no special treatment, just sensible cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. There is no area surcharge for SK17. The price reflects:

  • How many areas need work
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What kind of damage it is

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your pictures

You can typically get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Where you are, by postcode

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Your questions about bath repair in SK17

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

How quickly can you book me in?
