How we handle bath resealing in Arthill

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. We are often asked to fix discoloured, yellow sealant and leaks at the edges, across baths, kitchen worktops & sinks and shower trays & enclosures.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

For landlords and businesses

For anyone letting property in or around Arthill, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details.

How we price bath resealing

Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many items we do on one visit

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from photos

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Common questions in Arthill

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.

Do you work in Arthill?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Arthill. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How long does a reseal take?

Around two hours for a bath, then it needs to cure.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Keeping it looking good

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting

Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Why reseal now?

A professional reseal costs little compared with water damage. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
