Bath resealing in Austwick, done in place
A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. New silicone won’t bond to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Whether it’s mould you can’t clean out and gaps by the taps, we can help.
You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

What happens on the day
We work cleanly and quietly. Protection goes down first, then the work takes around two hours. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.
- We cut out all of the old sealant.
- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
- New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

How to look after the repair
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Clean the sealant gently and regularly
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Let steam out after showers
Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.
Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

What else we do in Austwick
Austwick: your questions answered
Do you charge for travel?
There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
How long does resealing take?
Around two hours for a bath, then it needs to cure.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.
Do you work in Austwick?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Austwick. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
How do I get a price for bath resealing in Austwick?
Because every job differs, we price from photos. You will get a fixed figure before you book.
Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.
What a repair can’t fix
We will not take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- Hidden water damage
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.
Materials we repair
- Basins & vanity units
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Wet rooms
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
Is resealing worth it?
Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
Why book with us

Do you need bath resealing in Austwick?
No sealant lasts for ever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould feeds on, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Black spots in the silicone
- Gaps in the seal
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
- Silicone smeared on tiles
What your quote should include
- What happens if they find more damage
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- If travel is included in the price
