About our bath resealing in Barmby on the Marsh

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. We’re frequently asked to fix old sealant that looks dirty and a messy previous reseal, on basins & vanity units, kitchen worktops & sinks and baths.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

  • Black mould in the sealant

Choosing a repair company

What we cannot put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms

Why reseal now?

A professional reseal costs little compared with water damage. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why us?

  • No need to remove anything
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures

Aftercare tips

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Keep bottles off the joints

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

What happens on the day

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a couple of hours for most jobs. The room is left tidy.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

How to prepare

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
