What affects the price in Beech

We charge the same across the UK, including Beech. What changes the price is:

  • How many areas need work
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The type of damage

Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

How to get a fixed price

You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

Bath resealing at your home in Beech

Preparation is everything in a reseal: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Then the fresh sealant goes on, as one neat, continuous bead. Typical jobs include leaks at the edges and an untidy old seal, in basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and baths.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It generally takes about two hours for a bath, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

Before we arrive

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Advice

Beech questions

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

How much does bath resealing cost in Beech?

We give a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Do you cover the entire of Hampshire?

We work UK-wide. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Movement is the usual cause, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We fill the bath before sealing it.

Can tenants book a repair?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Let steam out after showers

Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.

When we’d advise against a repair

A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Do you need bath resealing in Beech?

Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, frequently because it was sealed with the bath empty.

People generally call us when they notice one of these:

  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • An untidy old seal
  • Damp near the bath
  • Missing sealant behind the taps

Questions to ask before booking

  • Aftercare advice
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers

Our hiring checklist

Work for landlords and builders

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
