Bath resealing in Bickmarsh without replacing anything

Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Fresh joints make the entire room look cleaner, and they keep water out. We work on baths, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & sinks, and people most frequently call us about damp near the bath and sealant that’s split or lifting.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

What a repair cannot fix

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Hidden water damage
  • A flexing bath

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

What we work on

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms

How to look after the repair

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Air the room after use
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting

Avoid scraping the joints, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Why reseal now?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is and protects the walls and floor. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Bickmarsh. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why us?

  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

How the visit works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. We protect the area first, then the work takes a couple of hours. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, taps included.

How to prepare

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

What bath resealing costs

You’ll know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • How much damage there is
  • The type of damage
  • The material
  • Unusual colours or finishes

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book.

Quotes from your pictures

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and you will get one combined price.

How long before I can shower?

We’ll give you the curing time.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.

For landlords and businesses

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.
