Bath resealing in Birkenside without replacing anything
All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. Our repair technicians work on basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms, and people most frequently call us about black spots in the silicone and discoloured, yellow sealant.
You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder

How we price bath resealing
There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:
- How many areas need work
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- What the surface is made of
We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Birkenside. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
How to get a fixed quote
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:
- A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Something in shot to show the size
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath or shower, we can give you a fixed quote the same day in most cases.
Work for landlords and builders
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
Is resealing worth it?
Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

How it works
Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for a couple of hours. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.
- All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- We ensure the joint is completely dry.
- Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.
Before we arrive
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
Getting a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Aftercare tips
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:
- Use the extractor fan
- Wipe the joints dry after use
- Let steam out after showers
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
Keep the room well ventilated, and dry the joints after bathing so mould struggles to take hold.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
What we’re called out for in Birkenside
Even good sealant eventually discolours. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.
These are the problems we are asked about most:
- Black mould in the sealant
- Silicone coming away from the tiles
- Damp near the bath
- Gaps by the taps
What your quote should include
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- Whether the price covers travel
- What protection goes down before work starts
- How changes to the job are handled
Birkenside: your questions answered
What happens if you find more damage?
If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.
Why does my sealant keep splitting?
Movement is the usual cause. We seal baths full of water.
What information do you need?
Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire bath or shower and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Nearly always. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.
Can pets and children be at home?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
Is there any odour?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
