Trusted bath resealing in Box

Is resealing worth it?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Why us?

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Normally one visit, start to finish

Bath resealing in Box without replacing anything

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant doesn’t stick to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Common call-outs are for sealant that’s split or lifting and an untidy old seal, across kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and basins & vanity units.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

When a repair is not the answer

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Hidden water damage
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Signs you need bath resealing in Box

In time, even good sealant discolours, especially in a busy family bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Mould you cannot clean out
  • Damp near the bath
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant
  • Sealant that is split or lifting

10 questions to ask before you book

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

How the visit works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a couple of hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Ask for a price

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Questions from Box

What do you need from me?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

No, we never seal over old silicone. The old sealant is cut out and the joint cleaned and dried.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Damp is the cause. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

How long does resealing take?

Most reseals take about two hours. It then needs time to cure.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Looking after it afterwards

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers

Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use to keep mould away.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.
