Trusted bath resealing in Boxted Cross

Why it’s worth resealing in Boxted Cross

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What you get with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Everything repaired in place
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

Bath resealing at your home in Boxted Cross

All of the old sealant is cut out, treat any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. Typical jobs include gaps in the seal and silicone smeared on tiles, across shower trays & enclosures, baths and wet rooms.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

What we cannot put right

We will not take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units

What we do, step by step

There is not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take around two hours, tidy-up included.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Prices and what affects them

There’s no charge for travel to Boxted Cross. The price comes down to:

  • How many areas need work
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material
  • Doing more than one item at once

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Boxted Cross. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

How to look after the repair

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Essex and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Different materials, different repairs

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

How to compare quotes

Your questions about bath resealing in Boxted Cross

Do you cover Boxted Cross?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Boxted Cross and the rest of Essex. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How do I get a price for bath resealing in Boxted Cross?

Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your CO4 postcode.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

We always remove the old sealant completely. New silicone won’t bond to old.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Movement is the usual cause. We fill the bath before sealing it.

How long does resealing take?

Generally a couple of hours, plus curing time.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
