Trusted bath resealing in Braystones

Bath resealing at your home in Braystones

We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint is at its widest, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. We regularly repair wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and shower trays & enclosures, and people most frequently call us about black mould in the sealant and a messy previous reseal.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back.

Braystones questions

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first.

Is there any odour?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Looking after it afterwards

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Open a window after bathing

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

When to call us in Braystones

Joints split if the bath or tray moves, frequently because it was sealed while the bath was empty.

Clients usually contact us about:

  • Damp near the bath
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant
  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles

Our hiring checklist

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Is resealing worth it?

Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Why book with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

What we cannot put right

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • A flexing bath
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It normally takes around two hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, taps included.

Before we arrive

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath or shower, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

What affects the price in Braystones

There is no charge for travel to Braystones. The price comes down to:

  • How much damage there is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Access to the area
  • How hard the colour is to match

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Braystones. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price the same day in most cases.
