Common questions in Breage
Do you seal over the old sealant?
All the old sealant comes out. Fresh silicone does not stick to old.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course, and it typically saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.
Do you work in Breage?
We do. Technicians travel to Breage from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Why does my sealant keep splitting?
Generally because the bath or tray moves, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We seal baths full of water.
How long will it take?
Normally a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.
Is my repair covered?
Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Bath resealing in Breage, done in place
A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and a new seal stops it. Whether it’s a messy previous reseal and discoloured, yellow sealant, we can help, on shower trays & enclosures, wet rooms and basins & vanity units alike.
Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Cornwall.

Landlord and trade work in Breage
For anyone letting property in or around Breage, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we will price them together.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
When a repair is not the answer
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- Hollow or loose tiles
- A flexing bath
- Hidden water damage
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Baths
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & sinks

What else we do in Breage
What your bath or shower is made of matters
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.
What bath resealing costs
Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. What matters most is:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Whether we combine several jobs
- What the surface is made of
- The size and number of damaged areas
A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
How to get a fixed price
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.
Looking after it afterwards
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- Air the room after use
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Keep the joints dry
- Give the seal a regular clean
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
Is resealing worth it?
Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How the visit works
Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take around two hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- We dry the joint thoroughly.
- Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
- New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, taps included.
Getting ready for the visit
- Clear the area around the damage
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
