Bath resealing in Brookside, done in place

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. We are frequently asked to fix an untidy old seal and unsealed corners, on baths, shower trays & enclosures and kitchen worktops & sinks.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units

Looking after it afterwards

Aftercare is simple:

  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers

Avoid scraping the joints, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.

Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

How it works

We turn up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take around two hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

How we price bath resealing

A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • The material
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many areas need work

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Brookside. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Upload photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your SL5 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

FAQs for Brookside

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

Do the materials smell?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Are there extra charges for Brookside?

There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Brookside.

Can you quote from photos?

Usually, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Usually, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Brookside included. There is no extra charge for travel.

DIY kit or professional repair?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
