How we handle bath resealing in North Ascot
We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint opens fully, so the seal doesn’t tear when the bath is first used. We regularly repair baths, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms, and the jobs we see most are a messy previous reseal and unsealed corners.
You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

What bath resealing costs
You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- What the surface is made of
- The colour and finish to match
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- What kind of damage it is
A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Quotes from your pictures
Two or three clear pictures are generally enough. Try to include:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Where you are, by postcode
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.
For landlords and businesses
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.
North Ascot questions
When can I use the bath after resealing?
Generally after around 24 hours. We’ll tell you the exact time.
What happens if you find more damage?
The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
Is it messy?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
Can tenants book a repair?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
Which areas do you work in?
Everywhere in the UK, North Ascot included. There’s no extra charge for travel.
Can landlords book you?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners in North Ascot.
What your bath or shower is made of matters
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.
Looking after it afterwards
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Let steam out after showers
- Give the seal a regular clean
Avoid scraping the joints, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.
Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.
Is resealing worth it?
Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and that damage costs much more to fix. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How the visit works
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. We protect the area first, then the work takes about two hours for a bath. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- We remove the residue and clean the joint.
- We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Ensure the area is dry

DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
