Bath resealing in Brownedge without replacing anything
The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Our repair technicians work on shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units, and the jobs we see most are leaks at the edges and black spots in the silicone.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

Do you need bath resealing in Brownedge?
Joints split if the bath or tray moves, frequently because it was sealed while the bath was empty.
The most common problems we are called about are:
- Unsealed corners
- Old sealant that looks dirty
- Silicone smeared on tiles
- Mould you cannot clean out

When a repair isn’t the answer
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
- Very wide gaps that need a trim
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.

What we do, step by step
We agree an arrival time beforehand. On site, it takes a couple of hours. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.
- We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
- The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.
How to prepare
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Open a window if you can
- Let us know about parking or access

Advice
How to look after the repair
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
- Reseal when black spots will not clean off
- Wipe the joints dry after use
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
What your bath or shower is made of matters
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.
Questions from Brownedge
Why does my sealant keep splitting?
Normally because the bath or tray moves. We seal baths full of water.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Usually, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
We review the pictures and send a fixed quote with dates.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Is there a call-out fee?
There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.
Do you come to Brownedge?
Yes, we do. We send a technician to Brownedge for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
How long before I can shower?
Normally about a day later. We will tell you the exact time.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Work for landlords and builders
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Cheshire East and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
About our accreditations · Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.
