Bath resealing in Buckingham

Bath resealing in Buckingham without replacing anything

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. Common call-outs are for old sealant that looks dirty and missing sealant behind the taps, across shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and kitchen worktops & sinks.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

When to call us in Buckingham

Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed with the bath empty.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • A messy previous reseal
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Unsealed corners
  • Black spots in the silicone

Before you book anyone

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • How soon you can use it again
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • How your room will be protected

10 questions to ask before booking

Why it’s worth resealing in Buckingham

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. We remove the old sealant completely. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

What bath resealing costs

A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • Access to the area
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material
  • What kind of damage it is

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Send photos for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • The material, if you know it
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

If you are in Buckingham and want a price, the easiest route is photos: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Different materials, different repairs

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

How long before I can shower?

Normally about a day later. We’ll tell you the exact time.

Do you cover Buckingham?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Buckingham and the rest of Buckinghamshire. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.

We cover the entire UK, including Buckingham and the rest of Buckinghamshire. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Generally because the bath or tray moves. We fill the bath before sealing it.

When we’d advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Hidden water damage

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths

The process

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes about two hours for a bath. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We make sure the joint is completely dry.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

How to prepare

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Keeping it looking good

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Keep the joints dry
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
