We cut out all of the old sealant, treat any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. Our technicians work on basins & vanity units, wet rooms and shower trays & enclosures, and the jobs we see most are missing sealant behind the taps and black spots in the silicone.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

How we price bath resealing
A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Whether we combine several jobs
- How many areas need work
- What kind of damage it is
We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Bullinghope. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Send photos for a quote
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:
- One picture of the entire bath or shower
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Something in shot to show the size
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
Upload a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you are in Bullinghope, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
What a repair can’t fix
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Very wide gaps that need a trim
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.

Different materials, different repairs
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.
Is resealing worth it?
Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

How it works
Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a couple of hours, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- The joint is dried thoroughly.
- We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
- We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Let us know about parking or access

Advice
DIY repairs versus a professional job
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
Work for landlords and builders
If you manage property in Bullinghope, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we will price them together.
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Looking after it afterwards
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
- Air the room after use
- Ventilate the bathroom well
- Wipe the joints dry after use
Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
