Bath resealing near California

Bath resealing in California without replacing anything

We cut out all of the old sealant, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. If you’re dealing with unsealed corners and mould you can’t clean out, we can typically put it right, whatever the material.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

How it works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. Once we are there, the work takes a couple of hours. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Getting ready for the visit

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Looking after it afterwards

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Air the room after use

Avoid scraping the joints, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

Landlord and trade work in California

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

When a repair is not the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Hidden water damage

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

What affects the price in California

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • The type of damage
  • What the surface is made of
  • How much damage there is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Send photos for a quote

You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Any details about the material
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Details of any past repairs
  • One picture of the whole bath or shower

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Common problems we fix in California

Even good sealant eventually discolours, especially in a busy family bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Gaps in the seal
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Gaps by the taps

What to look for in a quote

  • How your room will be protected
  • How the colour is matched
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • How long it needs to cure

How to compare quotes

Resealing in California: why it matters

Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why California clients choose us

  • We leave the room as we found it
