Bath Resealing for Canning Town homes
Bath resealing across Canning Town and nearby, done in a single visit in most cases.
- Missing sealant behind the taps
- A messy previous reseal
- Black mould in the sealant

How we handle bath resealing in Canning Town
Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint opens fully, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. Common call-outs are for an untidy old seal and old sealant that looks dirty, across kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and baths.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

What we do, step by step
On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes about two hours for a bath. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- Old sealant and residue are removed.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
How to get a price

Why it’s worth resealing in Canning Town
A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
What affects the price in Canning Town
You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- The type of damage
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Doing more than one item at once
- How hard the colour is to match
Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Send photos for a quote
You can take the pictures on your phone. Just make sure we can see:
- One picture of the whole bath or shower
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- What it’s made of, if you know
For a price in Canning Town, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
When we’d advise against a repair
We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:
- Hidden water damage
- A flexing bath
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
Materials we work on in Canning Town

Canning Town questions
Does someone need to be in?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
Can you quote from photos?
In nearly every case. If pictures don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.
How quickly can you book me in?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.
Do you charge for travel?
We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.
What do you need from me?
Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Can new silicone go over old?
Never over old. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Typically, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.
Aftercare tips
So the finish stays in good condition for years:
- Use the extractor fan
- Open a window after bathing
- Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
Avoid scraping the joints, and do not stand bottles on the seal.
Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
Repairs by material
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.
