Questions from Clifford

Do you come out to small places like Clifford?

Yes, we cover the whole UK, villages included, at no extra charge.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

How much does bath resealing cost in Clifford?

The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You will get a fixed figure before booking.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Bath resealing at your home in Clifford

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they protect the walls and floor. If you’re dealing with mould you can’t clean out and a messy previous reseal, we can help.

In a village like Clifford, walls and floors in older homes are rarely perfectly straight, so a careful reseal matters even more.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

When to call us in Clifford

Even good sealant eventually discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all take their toll.

Common reasons people in Clifford contact us are:

  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Damp near the bath
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Missing sealant behind the taps

What to look for in a quote

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • If travel is included in the price
  • When it can be used again

How to compare quotes

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

When a repair isn’t the answer

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • A flexing bath
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

The process

We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we are there, the work takes about two hours for a bath in most cases. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used. For a rural address like Clifford, we plan the journey in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives or where to park. Everything for the bath resealing comes with us in one trip.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We make sure the joint is completely dry.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Advice

Landlord and trade work in Clifford

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.

Keeping it looking good

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Open a window after bathing
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in

Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. Replacement in Clifford means trades, travel and waste removal, while bath resealing is one trip.

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Clifford. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
