Prices and what affects them
Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. What matters most is:
- How many items we do on one visit
- How many areas need work
- How hard the colour is to match
- What the surface is made of
Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Crowther's Pool. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Send photos for a quote
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
- The material, if you know it
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
Email us a picture of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you are in Crowther's Pool, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
Bath resealing in Crowther's Pool without replacing anything
A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they protect the walls and floor. Whether it’s mould you can’t clean out and gaps by the taps, we can usually put it right, on shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units alike.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Is resealing worth it?
A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is and protects the walls and floor. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Questions from Crowther's Pool
Is it messy?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
Is there any odour?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Why does my sealant keep splitting?
Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.
What happens after I send pictures?
We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.
Will the price change on the day?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.
How it works
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes around two hours. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.
- We cut out all of the old sealant.
- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
- New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.
Preparing for the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

What we cannot put right
In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:
- A flexing bath
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Repairs by material
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.
Looking after it afterwards
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Keep the joints dry
- Reseal when black spots will not clean off
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
Keep the room well ventilated, and dry the joints after bathing.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
