Bath resealing in Clitheroe

Bath resealing at your home in Clitheroe

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone won’t bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. If you are dealing with gaps by the taps and silicone smeared on tiles, we can generally put it right, whatever the material.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we have gone.

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

What we can’t put right

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Hidden water damage
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures

How the visit works

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take a couple of hours, including clearing up.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Getting a price

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

How to care for the repair

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Open a window after bathing

Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use to keep mould away.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Questions from Clitheroe

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Generally poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide, so Clitheroe is covered. Prices don’t change with location.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Every job gets a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item and your postcode.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Around two hours for a bath, then it needs to cure.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • Gaps by the taps
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Mould you can’t clean out

Why it’s worth resealing in Clitheroe

Resealing costs very little, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
