Bath resealing for West Bradford homes

Bath resealing in West Bradford, done in place

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone won’t bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. We’re frequently asked to fix stained silicone and damp near the bath, across wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

For landlords and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Common problems we fix in West Bradford

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning only removes the surface.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Damp near the bath
  • A messy previous reseal
  • Sealant that is split or lifting
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant

Comparing quotes

  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • How your room will be protected
  • How to care for the finish

Choosing a repair company

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Why us?

  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Open a window after bathing
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Keep bottles off the joints

Keep the room well ventilated, and dry the joints after bathing to keep mould away.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

What happens on the day

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes around two hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Open a window if you can
  • Let us know about parking or access

How to get a price

Advice

Your questions about bath resealing in West Bradford

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, West Bradford included. Travel is included in the price.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We come back with a fixed quote, plus dates. There’s no obligation to book.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

We always remove the old sealant completely. Fresh silicone does not stick to old.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

When we would advise against a repair

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

How we price bath resealing

Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for West Bradford. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • The material, if you know it
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.
