Bath resealing for Clyne homes

How we handle bath resealing in Clyne

We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint is at its widest, so the seal doesn’t tear when the bath is first used. Our repair technicians work on basins & vanity units, baths and kitchen worktops & sinks, and people most frequently call us about gaps by the taps and black spots in the silicone.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee.

Can I fix it myself?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Clyne questions

How long before I can shower?

You will get the curing time from us, typically around a day.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Honest limits

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Hidden water damage
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms

Do you need bath resealing in Clyne?

In time, even good sealant discolours. Steam, soap and movement all take their toll.

Common reasons people in Clyne contact us include:

  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant
  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Sealant that’s split or lifting

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • How the room is protected while they work

How to compare quotes

What affects the price in Clyne

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material and finish

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Clyne. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

Phone photos are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Details of any past repairs
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • Any details about the material

If you’re in Clyne and want a price, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Clyne

If you manage property in Clyne, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we will price them together.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details.

Is resealing worth it?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why book with us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

The process

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow around two hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Getting a price

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
