Bath resealing in Coed-talon, done in place
We cut out all of the old sealant, treat any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. We regularly repair shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and wet rooms, and the jobs we see most are silicone coming away from the tiles and black spots in the silicone.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Coed-talon as everywhere else we work.

Common questions in Coed-talon
Can you quote from pictures?
Generally, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
Can pets and children be at home?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.
Are there extra charges for Coed-talon?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
What areas do you cover?
All of Flintshire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Flintshire.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
How do I book?
Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.
What affects the price in Coed-talon
You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How hard the colour is to match
- Whether we combine several jobs
- What kind of damage it is
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Send pictures for a quote
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Natural light rather than flash
- Where you are, by postcode
- One sharp close-up of the damage
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath or shower, we can price the job the same day in most cases.
Keeping it looking good
So the finish stays in good condition:
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Ventilate the bathroom well
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Keep the joints dry
Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.
Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
What we do, step by step
There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take a couple of hours.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Advice
DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
What your bath or shower is made of matters
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.
Why it’s worth resealing in Coed-talon
A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
