Prices and what affects them

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many areas need work

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

Send pictures for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Bath resealing in Collier Row without replacing anything

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. We are frequently asked to fix silicone smeared on tiles and missing sealant behind the taps, across basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

The process

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes about two hours for a bath, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Landlords, agents and businesses in Collier Row

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Collier Row as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Keeping it looking good

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Use the extractor fan
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Let steam out after showers

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, usually around 24 hours.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
