Bath resealing for Collydean homes

About our bath resealing in Collydean

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the entire room look cleaner, and they keep water out. We work on basins & vanity units, baths and shower trays & enclosures, and people most frequently call us about gaps in the seal and gaps by the taps.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

When a repair is not the answer

We will not take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • A flexing bath
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

How we price bath resealing

A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before you book.

Send pictures for a quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • The material, if you know it
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Upload photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your KY7 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Landlord and trade work in Collydean

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, and that damage costs much more to fix. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

What you get with us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Most jobs done in one visit

What we do, step by step

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take about two hours for a bath, tidy-up included.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Aftercare tips

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Keep the joints dry
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Ventilate the bathroom well

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, generally around 24 hours.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
