Bath resealing in Conanby without replacing anything

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Common call-outs are for a messy previous reseal and gaps by the taps, across shower trays & enclosures, wet rooms and baths.

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Doncaster.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

What a repair can’t fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Materials we work on in Conanby

  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units

Common problems we fix in Conanby

Poor ventilation speeds things up: moisture sits on the joints longer, and mould grows faster.

People usually call us after spotting one of these:

  • Gaps in the seal
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • An untidy old seal

Before booking anyone

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • When it can be used again
  • Who turns up on the day

Our hiring checklist

Is resealing worth it?

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How it works

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a couple of hours. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

Advice

Looking after it afterwards

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting

Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Questions from Conanby

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

Do you cover the whole of Doncaster?

We cover the whole UK, including Conanby and the rest of Doncaster. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll confirm dates.

Do you work in Conanby?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Conanby and the rest of Doncaster. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you will get one combined price.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

The bath or tray is probably flexing. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Mould needs moisture. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Doncaster.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Prices and what affects them

We don’t charge extra for travel to Conanby. The price comes down to:

  • The type of damage
  • What the surface is made of
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The colour and finish to match

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Conanby. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.
