Bath resealing near Conington

Bath resealing at your home in Conington

Preparation is everything in a reseal: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Only then does the new sealant go on, in a neat, continuous bead. We regularly repair kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and baths, and common reasons people contact us are mould you can’t clean out and leaks at the edges.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

How the visit works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes about two hours for a bath in most cases. The room is left tidy.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Resealing in Conington: why it matters

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why book with us

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • One visit for most repairs

Do you need bath resealing in Conington?

A bathroom without good ventilation is hard on sealant: damp hangs around, and mould takes hold.

Look out for these signs:

  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Stained silicone
  • Silicone smeared on tiles

Questions to ask before you book

  • Aftercare advice
  • How the colour is matched
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • When it can be used again

How to compare quotes

When a repair is not the answer

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Hidden water damage

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units

How to look after the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting

Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Conington: your questions answered

How long will it take?

Most reseals take about two hours. It then needs time to cure.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Damp is the cause. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

How do I book?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Conington. Prices do not change with location.

What bath resealing costs

You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How many areas need work
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many items we do on one visit

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to get a fixed quote

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
  • The material, if you know it
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

For a price in Conington, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
