Dean questions
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Usually, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
How long does silicone take to cure?
We will give you the curing time, usually around a day.
How do I book?
Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath or shower and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.
Can you reseal over the old silicone?
No, we never seal over old silicone. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.
What does bath resealing cost?
Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You’ll get a fixed figure before you book.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.
Do you cover the entire of Hampshire?
Across the UK, so Dean is covered. Prices do not change with location.
Why does my sealant keep splitting?
Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.
About our bath resealing in Dean
All of the old sealant is cut out, treat any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. If you’re dealing with a messy previous reseal and discoloured, yellow sealant, we can help, on basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and kitchen worktops & sinks alike.
Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

What your bath or shower is made of matters
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.
Aftercare tips
A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:
- Clean the sealant gently and regularly
- Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
- Let steam out after showers
- Ventilate the bathroom well
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.
Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
How we price bath resealing
A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:
- The material and finish
- Unusual colours or finishes
- How many items we do on one visit
- How much damage there is
Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.
Send photos for a quote
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- One picture of the whole bath or shower
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Something in shot to show the size
Upload a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your SO32 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
DIY kit or professional repair?
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
When a repair is not the answer
We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:
- Hidden water damage
- Very wide gaps that need a trim
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.
What we work on
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Baths
- Basins & vanity units

The process
On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes about two hours for a bath. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Make sure the area is dry
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
Getting a price
There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
