Bath resealing in Deritend, done in place
Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they protect the walls and floor. We are often asked to fix silicone smeared on tiles and discoloured, yellow sealant, across shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and wet rooms.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

Deritend questions
How long will it take?
Around two hours for a bath, plus curing time.
Is there any odour?
It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.
Why does mould come back so fast?
Generally poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Typically, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.
Do you come to Deritend?
We do. Repair technicians travel to Deritend from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

How it works
We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. It normally takes about two hours for a bath.
- We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
- The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
- The joint is dried thoroughly.
- Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
- New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, taps included.
Before we arrive
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Clear the area around the damage
- Open a window if you can

Landlord and trade work in Deritend
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Deritend use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
For anyone letting property in or around Deritend, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we will price them together.
Do you need bath resealing in Deritend?
Sealant doesn’t last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.
These are the problems we are asked about most:
- Old sealant that looks dirty
- An untidy old seal
- Gaps by the taps
- Silicone coming away from the tiles
What your quote should include
- Aftercare advice
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- What preparation is included
- How the room is protected while they work
What we can’t put right
We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- Hollow or loose tiles
- Movement in the bath or tray
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What affects the price in Deritend
There is no area surcharge for Deritend. What changes the price is:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book.
Getting a price from photos
You can typically get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Any details about the material
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
Is resealing worth it?
Resealing costs very little. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Deritend. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Why us?
- Everything repaired in place
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
- Every repair guaranteed for a year

Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
