Bath resealing near Dogmersfield

About our bath resealing in Dogmersfield

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. We’re often asked to fix gaps by the taps and old sealant that looks dirty, in kitchen worktops & sinks, wet rooms and basins & vanity units.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

What bath resealing costs

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Access to the area
  • What kind of damage it is

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from photos

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.

Keeping it looking good

Aftercare is simple:

  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, usually around 24 hours.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

Questions from Dogmersfield

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

What information do you need?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

What does bath resealing cost?

Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Can new silicone go over old?

All the old sealant comes out. New silicone won’t bond to old.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

How long does silicone take to cure?

We will give you the curing time.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.

When to call us in Dogmersfield

No sealant lasts for ever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

The things customers generally mention when they call are:

  • Damp near the bath
  • Sealant that’s split or lifting
  • Mould you cannot clean out
  • Old sealant that looks dirty

10 questions to ask before you book

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details and we will arrange it.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Hampshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What you get with us

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Usually one visit, start to finish

See our prices page.

How the visit works

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job normally takes about two hours for a bath. We clean up when we’re done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

How to prepare

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Ask for a price

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures through our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.
