Bath resealing in Dore

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Bath resealing in Dore, done in place

We cut out all of the old sealant, deal with any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. Common call-outs are for unsealed corners and silicone coming away from the tiles, across basins & vanity units, baths and wet rooms.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Resealing in Dore: why it matters

Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Dore. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why us?

  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Everything repaired in place

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Air the room after use

Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use to keep mould away.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.

How we price bath resealing

We do not charge extra for travel to Dore. The price comes down to:

  • The type of damage
  • Access to the area
  • The material
  • How much damage there is

Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Send photos for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

What we do, step by step

On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take around two hours. We clean up when we’re done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
