Bath resealing in Earlesfield, done in place

Baths, trays, basins and kitchen worktops all get resealed using mould-resistant silicone. Most jobs take a couple of hours. We work on shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and baths, and common reasons people contact us are black mould in the sealant and silicone smeared on tiles.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

The process

You do not need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It usually takes about two hours for a bath, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Open a window after bathing

Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing so mould struggles to take hold.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Your questions about bath resealing in Earlesfield

Are there extra charges for Earlesfield?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Typically because the bath or tray moves. We fill the bath before sealing it.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can tenants book a repair?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

DIY kit or professional repair?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

What we cannot put right

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Hidden water damage
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Resealing in Earlesfield: why it matters

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why Earlesfield clients choose us

  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Everything repaired in place

How we price bath resealing

There is no area surcharge for Earlesfield. What changes the price is:

  • The material and finish
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many items we do on one visit

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Getting a price from pictures

When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Details of any past repairs

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos using our quote form or call us. We’ll say immediately if a repair is the right fix.
