What we can’t put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Hidden water damage
  • A flexing bath

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures

How we handle bath resealing in East Street

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. Fresh sealant doesn’t stick to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Common call-outs are for old sealant that looks dirty and sealant that’s split or lifting, in kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and wet rooms.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Let steam out after showers

Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

East Street: your questions answered

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

What areas do you cover?

All of Somerset, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath or shower and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

How much does bath resealing cost in East Street?

Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Do you come to East Street?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to East Street. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

How long before I can shower?

You’ll get the curing time from us, generally around a day.

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

How we price bath resealing

You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The material
  • How many areas need work

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.

Resealing in East Street: why it matters

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • No need to remove anything
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing

Repairs by material

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It normally takes around two hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Make sure the area is dry
