Need bath resealing in Enfield?

How we handle bath resealing in Enfield

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and a new seal stops it. Our technicians work on shower trays & enclosures, baths and basins & vanity units, and common reasons people get in touch are stained silicone and black spots in the silicone.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers

Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.

How we price bath resealing

We give every job a fixed quote from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Getting a price from photos

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Email us pictures of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Enfield, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Enfield: your questions answered

Are there extra charges for Enfield?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Do you come to Enfield?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Enfield and the rest of Greater London. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mould needs moisture. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

What happens next?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.

Signs you need bath resealing in Enfield

Even good sealant eventually discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all take their toll.

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

DIY kit or professional repair?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

What we cannot put right

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take about two hours for a bath, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
