Bath Resealing for Ffestiniog homes
We travel to Ffestiniog for bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone. Nothing is taken out, and the work is guaranteed.
- Silicone coming away from the tiles
- Mould you can’t clean out
- Discoloured, yellow sealant

Is resealing worth it?
A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.
Why Ffestiniog customers choose us
- We come to you, anywhere in the UK

Bath resealing in Ffestiniog, done in place
A good reseal is all about preparation: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Only then does the new sealant go on, as one neat, continuous bead. We’re frequently asked to fix missing sealant behind the taps and leaks at the edges, on basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and kitchen worktops & sinks.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Ffestiniog as everywhere else we work.

How the visit works
Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a couple of hours, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
- Old sealant and residue are removed.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
- The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Make sure the area is dry
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
How to get a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
Related advice
What bath resealing costs
We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:
- What kind of damage it is
- How many items we do on one visit
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The material
A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.
How to get a fixed price
Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:
- Natural light rather than flash
- One picture of the whole bath or shower
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
If you’re in Ffestiniog and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
Can I fix it myself?
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
What your bath or shower is made of matters
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.
How to look after the repair
To keep it looking its best:
- Clean the sealant gently and regularly
- Ventilate the bathroom well
- Store bottles on a shelf
- Keep the joints dry
Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
When to call us in Ffestiniog
Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning cannot get it all out.
These are the problems we are asked about most:
- Gaps in the seal
- Black spots in the silicone
- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- Gaps by the taps
What to look for in a quote
- What protection goes down before work starts
- Whether the price covers travel
- When it can be used again
- Who turns up on the day

Ffestiniog: your questions answered
Will it make a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.
Do you hold any accreditations?
We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
How long does silicone take to cure?
Normally about a day later. We’ll tell you the exact time.
Do I have to be there?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?
Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.
How soon can you come?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.
What we cannot put right
A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We cannot fix:
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- A flexing bath
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
