Bath resealing in Fforest Gôch, done in place
All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. We regularly repair baths, wet rooms and basins & vanity units, and the jobs we see most are gaps in the seal and water getting behind the bath or tray.
Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Different materials, different repairs
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.
What happens on the day
You do not need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It generally takes a couple of hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- We clean, treat and dry the joint.
- We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
- The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Questions from Fforest Gôch
Are you a vetted contractor?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Is it messy?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
How do I stop mould in sealant?
Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.
Why does my sealant keep splitting?
Typically because the bath or tray moves. We fill the bath before sealing it.
Will there be a smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
Which areas do you work in?
We work UK-wide, so Fforest Gôch is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.
What happens after I send photos?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

Prices and what affects them
Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Unusual colours or finishes
- How many areas need work
- Doing more than one item at once
There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
How to get a fixed quote
You can take the pictures on your phone. Just ensure we can see:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Any details about the material
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A photo taken from further back
If you’re in Fforest Gôch and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Resealing in Fforest Gôch: why it matters
Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Fforest Gôch. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

For landlords and businesses
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Aftercare tips
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Let steam out after showers
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
- Use the extractor fan
- Dry the seal after bathing
Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing so mould struggles to take hold.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.
What a repair can’t fix
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- A flexing bath
- Hollow or loose tiles
- Hidden water damage
