Bath resealing in Fockerby

How we handle bath resealing in Fockerby

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. We’re frequently asked to fix an untidy old seal and old sealant that looks dirty, in basins & vanity units, baths and shower trays & enclosures.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re not left on your own once we’ve gone.

Signs you need bath resealing in Fockerby

Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning only removes the surface.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • A messy previous reseal

Questions from Fockerby

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We will give you the curing time, normally around a day.

How long does resealing take?

Most reseals take about two hours. Leave it to cure before use.

What information do you need?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

What happens after I send photos?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across North Lincolnshire.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

Why it’s worth resealing in Fockerby

Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Why us?

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

What a repair can’t fix

A repair is not right for every job, including:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Hidden water damage
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures

How it works

We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we are there, the work takes about two hours for a bath. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Advice

How to look after the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Keep the joints dry

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Work for landlords and builders

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
