Trusted bath resealing in Garmond

Bath resealing in Garmond, done in place

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. If you are dealing with black mould in the sealant and unsealed corners, we can help.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best:

  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Open a window after bathing

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. Allow a couple of hours, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Why reseal now?

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures

What we can’t put right

A repair is not always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms

Repairs by material

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Do you need bath resealing in Garmond?

Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning cannot get it all out.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Sealant that is split or lifting
  • Unsealed corners
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
