Bath Resealing for Garrabost homes
Bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone at your home in Garrabost, with a one-year guarantee on every repair.
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
- An untidy old seal
- Missing sealant behind the taps

How we handle bath resealing in Garrabost
Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. Common call-outs are for sealant that’s split or lifting and damp near the bath, on basins & vanity units, baths and shower trays & enclosures.
All our work comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Na h-Eileanan Siar.

Is resealing worth it?
Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

What we do, step by step
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a couple of hours, including clearing up.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
- The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
How to prepare
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Ensure the area is dry
- Open a window if you can

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

What bath resealing costs
You’ll know the full cost before you book. We look at:
- Access to the area
- What the surface is made of
- How many items we do on one visit
- The size and number of damaged areas
Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Garrabost. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Send pictures for a quote
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Something in shot to show the size
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.
When to call us in Garrabost
No sealant lasts for ever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould loves, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- Stained silicone
- Unsealed corners
- Black spots in the silicone
- Leaks at the edges
What your quote should include
- Who will actually do the work
- How changes to the job are handled
- What preparation is included
- How long it needs to cure
Repairs by material
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.
Common questions in Garrabost
Can you quote from photos?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
Can pets and children be at home?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
How do I book?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Do you charge for travel?
There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.
What areas do you cover?
Everywhere in the UK, Garrabost included. Travel is included in the price.
When a repair isn’t the answer
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
What we work on
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Wet rooms
- Basins & vanity units
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
Looking after it afterwards
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
- Air the room after use
- Dry the seal after bathing
Avoid scraping the joints, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.
Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
