Bath Resealing in Gorgie
Local bath resealing for Gorgie: a fixed quote from photos, a tidy visit and a one-year guarantee.
- Silicone coming away from the tiles
- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- Discoloured, yellow sealant

Bath resealing in Gorgie without replacing anything
The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. We regularly repair kitchen worktops & sinks, wet rooms and basins & vanity units, and the jobs we see most are sealant that’s split or lifting and stained silicone.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Is resealing worth it?
Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Why Gorgie customers choose us
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
- One visit for most repairs
- Straight answers about what a repair can do

What your bath or shower is made of matters
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.
How we price bath resealing
Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:
- The type of damage
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Access to the area
- How many items we do on one visit
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.
Quotes from your photos
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
- Any details about the material
- Something in shot to show the size
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos using our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
When we would advise against a repair
Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Do you need bath resealing in Gorgie?
Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning only removes the surface.
People typically call us when they notice something like this:
- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
- Black spots in the silicone
- Gaps in the seal
What your quote should include
- What prep work is covered
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- Whether they match the colour on site
- Who will actually do the work
Landlord and trade work in Gorgie
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.
For anyone letting property in or around Gorgie, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we will come back with a combined price.
FAQs for Gorgie
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
Is it messy?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
Is there a call-out fee?
There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.
How long does a reseal take?
Most reseals take about two hours. It then needs time to cure.
Does someone need to be in?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.
Will there be a smell?
It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.
Why does my sealant keep splitting?
The bath or tray is probably flexing. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
What we do, step by step
Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Plan for a couple of hours. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.
- First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- We dry the joint thoroughly.
- We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
- New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.
Before we arrive
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
How to get a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.
