Bath resealing in Greenoak

Bath resealing in Greenoak without replacing anything

Baths, trays, basins and kitchen worktops all get resealed, with mould-resistant sanitary silicone. Most jobs take a couple of hours, plus curing time. We regularly repair basins & vanity units, baths and shower trays & enclosures, and the jobs we see most are black mould in the sealant and discoloured, yellow sealant.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

What affects the price in Greenoak

You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • The material and finish
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The colour and finish to match

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Greenoak. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

When we would advise against a repair

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • A flexing bath
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms

Work for landlords and builders

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

For anyone letting property in or around Greenoak, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we will price them together.

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for a couple of hours. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

Advice

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

Why it’s worth resealing in Greenoak

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. We remove the old sealant completely. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why book with us

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do

FAQs for Greenoak

What happens after I send pictures?

You will get a fixed quote back, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Are there extra charges for Greenoak?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

How long does silicone take to cure?

We’ll give you the curing time.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we are working that clears as it cures.

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

We always remove the old sealant completely. Fresh silicone does not stick to old.

Looking after it afterwards

Aftercare is simple:

  • Use the extractor fan
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Keep the joints dry

Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.
