Bath resealing in Greet, done in place

We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint is at its widest, so the seal doesn’t tear when the bath is first used. We work on kitchen worktops & sinks, wet rooms and basins & vanity units, and people most often call us about an untidy old seal and discoloured, yellow sealant.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Technician in a mask working on a freestanding roll-top bath

What we do, step by step

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take around two hours, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

How to prepare

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Related advice

Is resealing worth it?

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Greet. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why us?

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Work done at your home or business

See our full price list.

What bath resealing costs

We charge the same across the UK, including Greet. What changes the price is:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How easy the damage is to reach

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to get a fixed price

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Natural light rather than flash

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Greet questions

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Do you work in Greet?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Greet. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Movement is the usual cause. We seal baths full of water.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

Normally about a day later. We’ll tell you the exact time.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the entire UK, including Greet and the rest of Birmingham. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

How to care for the repair

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, typically around 24 hours.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Birmingham and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

What we are called out for in Greet

Sealant doesn’t last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • A messy previous reseal
  • Gaps by the taps
  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Old sealant that looks dirty

Before booking anyone

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • When it can be used again
  • How your room will be protected

What a repair can’t fix

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • A flexing bath

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.
