Bath resealing in Hafod, done in place
A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. Fresh sealant doesn’t stick to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Typical jobs include sealant that’s split or lifting and old sealant that looks dirty, in basins & vanity units, baths and kitchen worktops & sinks.
We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Resealing in Hafod: why it matters
Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

How the visit works
You do not need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes about two hours for a bath, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
- The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
- We make sure the joint is completely dry.
- We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
- We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

- Damp near the bath

DIY kit or professional repair?
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Hafod
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Hafod use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
How to care for the repair
It’s all simple stuff:
- Open a window after bathing
- Use the extractor fan
- Store bottles on a shelf
- Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
