Your questions about bath resealing in Hawley

How do I book?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

We always remove the old sealant completely. New silicone will not bond to old.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including Hawley and the rest of Hampshire. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.

When to call us in Hawley

A bathroom without good ventilation is hard on sealant: damp hangs around, and mould takes hold.

The things customers usually mention when they call include:

  • Gaps in the seal
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Silicone smeared on tiles
  • Mould you can’t clean out

What to look for in a quote

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price

How to compare quotes

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

Resealing in Hawley: why it matters

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is and protects the walls and floor. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Why book with us

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Normally one visit, start to finish
  • A fixed quote before you book

What a repair cannot fix

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units

How the visit works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It normally takes around two hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Before we arrive

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Advice

Keeping it looking good

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting

Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
