Bath resealing near High Bradley

How we price bath resealing

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How many areas need work
  • The material and finish
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.

Send pictures for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Bath resealing in High Bradley, done in place

A good reseal is all about preparation: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Then the fresh sealant goes on, as one neat, continuous bead. We work on baths, shower trays & enclosures and kitchen worktops & sinks, and the jobs we see most are mould you can’t clean out and gaps by the taps.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

How the visit works

You do not need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. It usually takes about two hours for a bath, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Questions from High Bradley

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

Never over old. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

What happens after I send pictures?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

Normally about a day later. We’ll tell you the exact time.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Looking after it afterwards

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Store bottles on a shelf

Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

Is resealing worth it?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Do you need bath resealing in High Bradley?

A bathroom without good ventilation is hard on sealant: damp hangs around, and mould takes hold.

Clients typically contact us about:

  • Leaks at the edges
  • Stained silicone
  • Sealant that’s split or lifting
  • Mould you can’t clean out

What your quote should include

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Who will actually do the work
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Aftercare advice
