Common questions in High Brooms

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Can tenants book a repair?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Mould needs moisture. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Do you charge for travel?

There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.

Do you cover High Brooms?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to High Brooms for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

How long before I can shower?

We will give you the curing time, normally around a day.

Bath resealing at your home in High Brooms

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. Our technicians work on baths, shower trays & enclosures and basins & vanity units, and common reasons people get in touch are discoloured, yellow sealant and silicone smeared on tiles.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

What a repair cannot fix

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Hollow or loose tiles

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units

Different materials, different repairs

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Use the extractor fan
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, generally around 24 hours.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

Why reseal now?

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for High Brooms. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why us?

  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Landlords, agents and businesses in High Brooms

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Kent and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Allow about two hours for a bath. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
