When we’d advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Hidden water damage
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

Bath resealing in High Street without replacing anything

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Whether it’s unsealed corners and an untidy old seal, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Aftercare tips

A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:

  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Air the room after use

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, generally around 24 hours.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Resealing in High Street: why it matters

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

Why High Street clients choose us

  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • One price list for the whole UK

How it works

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to about two hours for a bath, tidy-up included.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath or shower, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

How we price bath resealing

There’s no area surcharge for High Street. The price reflects:

  • Access to the area
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • What the surface is made of
  • How much damage there is

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Quotes from your pictures

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Common problems we fix in High Street

Sealant does not last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Leaks at the edges
  • Mould you can’t clean out
  • Unsealed corners
  • Stained silicone

  • What preparation is included

How to compare quotes

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.
