Bath resealing near Hill Side

Bath resealing in Hill Side without replacing anything

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint opens fully, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. We regularly repair wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and shower trays & enclosures, and common reasons people get in touch are discoloured, yellow sealant and unsealed corners.

All our work comes with our one-year guarantee.

How the visit works

From the moment we arrive, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a couple of hours, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, taps included.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated

Hill Side questions

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

The bath or tray is probably flexing. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.

What does bath resealing cost?

Every job gets a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Honest limits

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • A flexing bath

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms

Do you need bath resealing in Hill Side?

A bathroom without good ventilation is hard on sealant: damp hangs around, and mould takes hold.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Sealant that is split or lifting
  • Mould you cannot clean out
  • Unsealed corners
  • Stained silicone

Choosing a repair company

DIY repairs versus a professional job

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Resealing in Hill Side: why it matters

Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Why Hill Side customers choose us

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Usually one visit, start to finish
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Hill Side as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it typically costs far less than a refit.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

How we price bath resealing

You’ll know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The type of damage
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Doing more than one item at once

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Send pictures for a quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
