Bath resealing at your home in Kimcote

We reseal baths, shower trays, basins and worktops, with mould-resistant sanitary silicone. A typical reseal takes a couple of hours. We’re frequently asked to fix missing sealant behind the taps and silicone coming away from the tiles, across basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and baths.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Kimcote as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

The process

We begin by going over the job with you. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. You can expect it to take a couple of hours, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

FAQs for Kimcote

Can new silicone go over old?

All the old sealant comes out. Fresh silicone does not stick to old.

How long does resealing take?

Around two hours for a bath, plus curing time.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

What happens next?

We come back with a fixed quote, generally with dates to choose from. There is no obligation to book.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

How long before I can shower?

Normally about a day later. We’ll tell you the exact time.

How much does bath resealing cost in Kimcote?

Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

How do I book?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Why Kimcote customers choose us

  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • One visit for most repairs

See our prices page.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

How we price bath resealing

You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • How many areas need work
  • The material and finish
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How hard the colour is to match

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Kimcote. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Email us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your LE17 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Aftercare tips

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Air the room after use
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal

Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
